Solar modules and high-grade batteries are housed in a compact self-contained marine lantern, designed for low maintenance with a projected service life of 10 years before any significant maintenance is needed. The 5° and 10° divergence lenses are ideal for fixed or floating aids to navigation while the 20° or 30° lens provides exceptional performance on buoys. The 5° lens can be used to meet specific needs that require a much longer range while still using a minimal amount of power.

The SolaMAX-3 is a “smart” self-contained lantern capable of ranges up to 3NM covering a variety of applications.

Its lightweight and compact design makes it the ideal self-contained lantern for small marker buoys, docks, marinas and aquaculture sites and provides years of maintenance-free operation. Revolutionary optics and high efficiency solar panels make the SolaMAX-3 even more suitable for northern latitudes and low solar radiation applications.

The “smart” built-in controller allows for full monitoring and control functions via an infrared controller. Historical data can also be downloaded onto a PC for archiving and report generation.

The SolaMAX-65 is a self-contained lantern capable of ranges up to 5NM in the standard version and up to 7NM in the extended version (SolaMAX-65-T). Its compact design makes it the ideal self-contained lantern for many applications including inland waterways, buoys and offshore platform marking to provide years of maintenance-free operation.

Revolutionary optics and high efficiency solar panels make the SolaMAX-65 exceptionally suitable for northern and southern latitudes and low solar radiation applications. The built-in IR receiver allows for full customisation of the power level, flash character, sunswitch setting and features a self test mode. A convenient magnetic switch is used for switching off, storage/sleep mode or regular operation.

Tideland Signal offers a unique range of 1 to 3NM self-contained lanterns, the L-110, L-120 and L-130. All lanterns are ideal for small marker buoys, docks, marinas and aquaculture sites.

Available in all IALA colours, including blue, and can be programmed to any required flash character. These lightweight and completely waterproof lanterns feature UV-stabilized Lexan® polycarbonate and stainless steel construction, easy to install, and will provide years of maintenance free operation.

The Nova-65 features unique and proprietary optics which provide a 360° beam at 3°, 5°, 10°, 20° or 30° vertical divergence.

Utilizing a highly efficient compact lens, the Nova-65 is a one of a kind, small, lightweight marine beacon. The 10° divergence lens is ideal for fixed or floating aids to navigation while the 20° and 30° lenses provide exceptional performance on buoys. The 5° lens can be used to meet specific needs that require a much longer range while still using a minimal amount of power. The 20° and 30° options are ideal for use on tension-leg and spar platforms.

In 2012, the Nova-65 HI was specifically designed to provide over 10NM range with a vertical divergence of 3°. It is available in white only.

Two options of housing are available for general marine use (GMU): polycarbonate and a ruggedized metal version. For NEC Class 1 Division 2, housing is only available in polycarbonate. For ATEX/IECEx (Category 3), housing is available in ruggedized metal only and with a 10° lens. Both housing options are designed to withstand the harsh marine environment including: ice buildup in extremes of latitude and the high temperatures experienced along the equatorial plane.

IP-66 and IP-68 make Nova-65 the choice of professionals.

Designed specifically as a 10NM back-up light

MLED-150Ex brings the benefits of LED technology, low power, high reliability and low maintenance, to the Zone 1 environment. The flasher and optical source assembly, designated MaxiHALO-150, is designed after the proven MaxiHALO-60.

The MaxiHALO-150 is installed in a rugged Exd well glass housing used in the rigors of offshore atmospheres. The MLED- 150Ex is compatible with current Tideland Signal lanterns and is configurable as a Secondary (Standby) light. When used in a main and secondary pair installation, the Secondary light monitors the Main light and, upon failure, automatically begins operation. Onboard software constantly monitors operation of the MLED- 150Ex and initiates an alarm signal if critical operation parameters are exceeded. The MLED-150Ex produces an omnidirectional beam of 10NM visual range with T = 0.74 (16NM with T = 0.85).

Tideland Signal (Tideland) has merged its patented and proven MaxLumina® lens technology with 21st century LED technology to provide low maintenance, low power consumption and long range, MLED-140, MLED-155 and MLED-300 navigational lanterns.

The MLED-140 is ideal for use wherever a wide beam is required, such as in compensating for buoy roll. Visibility is improved in locations such as high bridges, where there are extreme differences in angle of observation at various ranges. The MLED-140 and MLED-155 are used to mark buoys, offshore structures, channels, bridges, barges and docks. Tideland Signal’s hinged Fresnel lens incorporates 38 optical elements, maximising light transmission in the horizontal plane.

The MLED-300 and MLED-155 are excellent for use on fixed offshore structures, achieving maximum visual range. MLED series provides trouble-free service in rigorous marine environments.

New to the range, a tough and efficient ice buoy lantern

The NOVA-IB is specifically designed for use on an ice buoy or spar type river buoy. Manufactured from heavy-duty bronze with a strong acrylic lens, the NOVA-IB is highly efficient and naturally completely waterproof. For the occasions when it is pulled under ice or pulled under water from floating debris, Tideland offers a tilting control option that will turn the light off to increase efficiency.

Rated at IP68, The NOVA-IB is available in all IALA colors and has a 10 degree vertical divergence with ranges of up to 7 or 8NM depending upon color of choice. It has a “best in class” performance rating and is up to 50% more efficient than comparable products.

The NOVA-IB has a wide input voltage range of 12V to 30V DC and is compatible with most primary battery packs. Designed with greater efficiency, the NOVA-IB will outlast other products and provide options to select a greater NM range.

Potential debris may cause considerable damage to conventional buoys and lanterns. Trials have shown that using a spar type buoy with a NOVA-IB can limit damage. On most ice buoys, debris builds up against the buoy until it is pushed under, whereby using a spar type buoy with a NOVA-IB, tests have shown the debris floats over and the buoy returns to its normal position.

NOVA-IB can also be programmed with a simple remote control that is also available as an option.

The lightweight and durable ML-300 is suitable for a wide range of marine applications such as lighthouses, landfall beacons, offshore platforms, drilling barges and channel markers. ML-300 produces luminous intensity levels with lower current consumption than other manufacturers’ lanterns equipped with moulded lenses.

The ML-300 utilises Tideland’s 300mm Fresnel lens, introduced in 1967 as the world’s largest singlepiece acrylic optic for marine lanterns. Today, the ML-300 is the most efficient injection moulded 300mm lens available producing greater required effective intensities from smaller wattage lamps than any other lens of comparable size.

Tideland’s ML-140 lantern is ideal for use as an aid to navigation wherever a wide-angle vertical divergence light beam is required.

The use of wider light beams is recognised as an important factor in compensating for buoy roll. The ML-140 is a single-piece injection moulding of acrylic with Fresnel optics specially designed to increase beam divergence in the vertical plane.
